Activities at the Hotel
We encourage our guests to explore the hotel, a New York City landmark, considered an extraordinary living Art Deco museum. The staff of The Waldorf=Astoria is dedicated to the elegant service traditions of the world’s grand hotels. We will do everything in our power to ensure your experiences here are delightfully memorable.

A Little Night Magic

On Friday nights at 7:00 and 9:00 pm—and now for select Saturday performances— catch the magic of Steve Cohen in the residential ambience of a Waldorf Towers suite. For 2008, Steve has added “The Miraculous Rising Cards,” a centuries-old trick that still astounds. A “brilliant magician,” says Academy Awardwinning screenwriter William Goldman (Variety).

For tickets to see the Millionaire’s Magician, (Fridays; 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm), call (212) 209-3370 or visit www.chambermagic.com.

Signature Services
Waldorf specialty services are provided to all our valued guests. These services include our professional and very knowledgeable Concierges; twenty-four hour room service; and shopping and culinary experiences in our fine and diverse restaurants.

A Gift of Indulgence

The hotel has expanded its collection of in-room amenities to enhance the pleasure of your stay. With a single phone call (a few days ahead for floral requests), you can arrange to have an assortment of domestic and imported cheeses with a bottle of fine red or white wine awaiting you after a busy day of shopping or touring the area’s attractions. Or return from the theater to find chocolate dipped strawberries and votive candles at your bedside and your bed strewn with rose petals.

Our staff also creates engaging packages using popular commemorative items from the Distinctly Waldorf collection, such as The Waldorf=Astoria Cookbook or a set of the hotel’s replica, archival, hand-tinted Waldorf Postcards, perhaps served with an assortment of Jean-Claude Perennou’s desserts and a bottle of Waldorf brut champagne.

For a romantic tribute, consider a floral display. Another guest favorite is a Waldorf Gift Card, perhaps for dinner at Peacock Alley or an intimate Room Service lunch for two.

Our in-house floral shop can also arrange to have flowers delivered anywhere in Manhattan (or around the globe, through an elite floral delivery network). For more assistance choosing an amenity, please call (212) 872-4855.

Distinctly Waldorf: The Gift of The Waldorf Collection

For guests and fans of the hotel, may we suggest selections from Distinctly Waldorf, the hotel’s gift collection.

Indulge yourself with one of two beautifully illustrated and written coffeetable books, both of which feature The Waldorf=Astoria. The American Hotel examines the multifaceted world of America’s grand hotels and the artistic, social, and cultural forces that shaped them. Using more than 200 archival photographs and hand-colored renderings, Grand Hotels Of The Jazz Age explores the spectacular Gilded Age hotels of renowned design firm Schultz & Weaver. When you depart, a Limoges Box of The Waldorf=Astoria will be an exquisite reminder of your Art Deco tour and hotel visit.

For gastronomes, culinary collectors, historians, and fans of the hotel, The Waldorf=Astoria Cookbook is a favorite. Many recipes are featured in our restaurants; all are delicious and make an artful presentation. Food reviewer Brett Moore named the cookbook one of the “Top Gourmet Cookbooks of 2006,” praising Executive Chef John Doherty for presenting complex recipes “in a simple and straightforward manner.” The cookbook “is especially a pleasure to read because of the rich history of The Waldorf=Astoria, perhaps America’s most famous hotel,” Moore says of the fascinating historic tales the cookbook shares within its pages. “Interesting sidebars about the personnel and history of the hotel add to this wonderful book.” To place an order, call (800) 274-1006, or you may shop online at www.distinctlywaldorf.com. We also invite you to visit our Gift Shop in the South Lobby of the hotel.
